Commemoration of Australian, Cypriot and Allied Soldiers

On Sunday I was honoured to attend a Wreath-laying ceremony in Martin Place to commemorate those Australian, Cypriot and Allied Soldiers who have given their lives fighting for freedom and democracy.

I then attended the 40th anniversary commemoration of the invasion of Cyprus in 1974 at the Cyprus Community Club in Stanmore, where I spoke about the terrible upheaval of conflict and the need for peacebuilding, justice and unification for all Cypriots.

It was an honour to be among those who have given so much both their homeland and to their new home of Australia.
